Secret Crush is a romantic story about attraction, surprise, longing, and two young men discovering that sometimes getting swept off your feet begins with simply being noticed.

I pulled this one out of the vault and used AI to narrate the audio version.
I originally wrote Secret Crush in my mid 20s, in the early 2000s, when we were still burning CDs, buying DVDs, and transitioning from beepers and pagers to cell phones. Yes, there are CDs, DVDs, Starbucks dates, and a world before our entire lives lived inside our phones. 💿📱
I did a little editing and cleaning up, but I deliberately did not try to turn it into something I would write today. This is where I was as a writer and as a young gay man around 25 years ago.
Reading it again all these years later surprised me. For all the little time capsules tucked inside it, I think the heart of the story has held up remarkably well.
Mystery. Romance. That delicious uncertainty of wondering whether someone likes you. And the wonderfully ridiculous lengths we sometimes go to when we really want to make someone’s heart flutter.
