The Weight we Carry: A Reflection

New Spoken Word Podcast Release

The Weight We Carry, The Love We Return

This week’s spoken word reflection is one of the most personal pieces I’ve shared in a long time.

It is about caregiving.About aging.About guide dogs and family.About emotional exhaustion.About boundaries.About losing people.About discovering who stays.About advocacy fatigue.About learning that love is not only found in celebration, but in the difficult seasons when we quietly carry one another through pain, change and uncertainty.

As my partner helps his family pack away a lifetime of memories and our retired guide dog queen Posh faces difficult health struggles here at home, I found myself reflecting on grief, responsibility, emotional labor, friendship, resilience and the complicated weight many of us carry silently every day.

This is not just an article anymore. It is now a spoken word conversation from the heart.

If you have ever felt emotionally stretched thin while still trying to show up for the people and communities you love, I think this one may speak to you.
