20230502 Herbie’s Cooking Corner

Participants joined tori and me as we took you on another cooking adventure. This time: Spicy Buttermilk Oven Fried Chicken. If cooking with us, you will need the following:
- 3 1/2 pounds chicken pieces (I use Bone-in thighs)
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2
- teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- Frying Pan or electric skillet
- 9 by 13 baking pan
- Stove top
- Oven
Note: you will need to soak the chicken in buttermilk for 2 to 24 hours. Please keep refrigerated. Towards the end we will have Tori’s tips. She offered some additional tricks as well as both Vegan and Gluten Free substitutions where possible. I will also consider any requests for future cooking demos. This call will be made available.
