Seeking Qualified Applicants for Meta Smart Glasses Technical Support
The American Council of the Blind (ACB) is launching a ten-month initiative supported by a Meta Impact Grant to expand awareness, knowledge, and confident use of Meta Smart Glasses within the blind and low-vision community. An important part of this project is ensuring that people not only learn what the glasses can do, but have access to knowledgeable support as they set up their glasses, explore features, and troubleshoot challenges along the way.
We believe some of the best expertise already exists within our own blindness community. ACB is seeking experienced Meta Smart Glasses users with strong technology training and support skills to provide contracted technical assistance throughout the project, which will run from September 2026 through June 2027.
ACB membership is not required to apply, and applicants from throughout the blind and low-vision community are encouraged to participate. Applicants must reside in the United States to be eligible for this contracted opportunity.
Technical Support Schedule
Open Office Hours will be offered on the second and fourth Mondays of each month from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern, providing a welcoming space for participants to ask questions and receive real-time assistance.
Individual 30-minute technical support appointments will also be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays at varying times for those needing more focused assistance with initial setup, troubleshooting, or other technical needs.
We invite individuals who meet the qualifications below and are interested in sharing their knowledge and experience to apply to be part of this project.
